By default,
fs.readFileSyncreturns a rawBuffer. Calling.toString()on the buffer allocates memory for the buffer, parses it into a string, returns the string, and leaves the buffer to be garbage-collected. Passing the'utf8'encoding directly toreadFileSyncbypasses this intermediate buffer creation, returning the string directly.📊 Impact
Reduces unnecessary memory allocations and slightly improves execution speed when reading files during CLI and plugin operations.
